How to Measure Your Garment
Today’s fashion is to wear knitwear very loose and of generous proportions (oversized), but this can change or you may have a personal preference. The best way is to establish the correct measurement is to take an
existing garment with as near your desired fit as you can get, lay it flat on a bed or table and base your specified measurements on this garment.
There are three dimensions we need to make knitwear to your
specification, they are:-
A. The chest measurement is established by measuring across the garment 1” (2.5cm) from the armhole (and x 2 to give the circumference)
B. Garment length is established by measuring from the side of the neck to the bottom of the rib.
C. Sleeve length, or more correctly the CBC
(center back to cuff) is established by measuring from the
center of the back neck band to the cuff
The above measurements should then be adjusted to your actual requirements and entered on the enquiry form.
